Easy, 30-minute spring craft ideas

Whenever there's a change in season or an upcoming holiday, I like to get my hands into a project. Last winter, I knitted scarves and worked on a holiday canvas art. Now that it's spring, I'm looking for a few easy projects or crafts to work on. I prefer crafts that only take about 30 minutes to an hour, tops. Here are five spring-themed DIY projects to inspire your season.

1. Striped succulent planters

You might be itching to get in your garden, but until the ground is ready for planting, why not add some interest to a few indoor pots? Gather three terra cotta pots in varying sizes, use painter's tape to block off a design, and paint directly on the pot. Fill with succulents for a cheerful display. Need inspiration? 2. DIY floral wreath

A festive, floral wreath is just the right accent for your spring door. Make it easy on yourself by purchasing a wreath form (either natural or foam). Wrap with grey and white polka dot fabric, and secure with a faux yellow flower for a nod to rainy days of spring. Or, leave the natural wreath form as-is and add a greenery-wrapped monogram letter for a preppy twist. Gather more ideas here.

3. Bright garland

A happy, colorful string of garland is just what you need to brighten up your chalkboard for spring. Start with a long piece of twine that fits the space you're decorating. Here comes the fun part: decide your color scheme and garland material. For a calming palette, try lilac, robin's egg blue, grey and sage. Or, get punchy with bright yellow, neon lavender and coral. Next, pick your material. Try tissue paper poms (see picture above) or paint chips for non-traditional flair.

Valentines for your galentines

What’s Galentine’s Day? Oh, it’s only the best day of the year. Every February 13th, Leslie Knope and her lady friends leave their husbands and their boyfriends at home and just kick it breakfast style. Ladies celebrating ladies.

Remember Valentine's Day in elementary school? I would spend hours picking out the perfect cards to give to all my classmates. I'd decorate a brown paper sack with paper doilies and pink glitter, wait for the class party, and then deliver the goods. Why don't we still do that? I think we should still sneak cards to special friends.

This year I decided to do just that and send a sweet treat to my favorite ladies galentines (so cheesy, I know)!

Since I love my coffee dates with friends, I decided on this pack of coffee cup cards from Etsy. I added a cute saying on the front, and included a Starbucks card on the inside. I added a little washi tape to decorate the envelope and will drop them in the mail this week! Super easy and festive, too!
